Illio Lombaire Distractor

This device is used to reduce and control ongoing lumbar scoliosis. With the installation of a tutor located between the illical crest and the crossbeam of the 4th lumbar vertebra. The idea comes from the tutor of a growing tree. This device was successfully used for the 1st time in 1983 (Lyon), about fifty cases was realized since then. Some modifications are currently made on the actual device, leading to upcoming an upgraded version.

This device reduces a scoliosis by putting the 4th vertebra horizontal in order to block the scoliosis’evolution. It is then removed once the patient is done growing.
